Jason Wiffen
Jason is reserved, humble, wise, and intentional with his time. “My friends and colleagues say that I put them at ease, I listen to them, and I don’t rush our conversations. They always know that I am present and focused during our conversations and that I am ‘taking it all in’ before I respond.”
As a lifelong resident of New York, Jason lived in Ridge and Rocky Point before moving to Port Jefferson in 2011. “I played lacrosse in High School and in college. The competitive, strategic and physical endurance aspects of the sport drew me in. But the deep ‘brotherhood’ in the sport kept me there. I am still friends with former teammates. We believe that, as good as we were on the field, playing lacrosse has made each of us greater off the field.”
Jason earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Roanoke College in Virginia. Upon graduation, he earned his Health Insurance License and worked at Guardian Life and Health. In August of 1999, he joined ADP. Over the course of Jason’s career at ADP, he has consistently and repeatedly excelled in sales. His roles have included District Manager of Sales, Vice President of Sales—Small Business Services Long Island, and, as of 2017, Jason is the Senior District Manager selling to large corporations that employ between 150 and 999 people.
Jason’s perspective on sales is unique as he offers a consultative approach when meeting with prospective or existing clients. “Business owners are expecting ‘to be sold,’ but I ask questions and listen to them, so I can discern first and then present the solutions that make the most sense for their business. By offering advice on how to avoid costly mistakes when to comes to compliance, taxing, workers’ compensation and litigation, I earn my clients respect and gratitude for the time I invest in protecting their business while helping the business grow.” Jason’s selfless mindset is easy to understand, which is why he has won the ADP President’s Award 17 times. “I love what I do, and if I am going to spend time away from my family, then I want to be consistent and productive at work!”
With the birth of his third child in October 2020, Jason and his wife needed to find childcare for their infant daughter. “As soon as we walked into Noah’s Ark Daycare and met the Director, Venetta Jones, we knew we were in the right place. Venetta made us feel welcome, and throughout our tour, we observed the caring, protective culture our daughter would experience. Our daughter attended Noah’s Ark for 3 ½ years, and we are grateful for the child development she received.” Jason joined the Board in the Spring of 2023. His family experienced the benefits of having their child attend Noah’s Ark, and he wanted to help. Jason brings the parents’ perspective to the table and appreciates the use of technology in business. Noah’s Ark has implemented technology for time and attendance, check-in and check-out procedures, and time and data tracking to manage employees. This new infrastructure complements the safe, clean, and nurturing environment that is the foundation of Noah’s Ark. Noah’s Ark builds trust with its parents, and this is earned through a foundational curriculum, individualized early childhood development, and open communication. Jason Whiffen has built his family’s foundation and business brand on Love, Trust and Respect. “Being kind towards others and respecting their space and perspective is important in cultivating relationships. But the key to sustaining relationships is built on trust.” Jason is proud to be a husband and father, and he is clear on the number one priority in his life—keeping family first!
